Edit Custom Flow Variables
If the variable is already in use, then you cannot edit the Variable Type. Doing so may have major implications on the flow. So, this action is prohibited. In this case, the Variable Type drop-down field is disabled and a warning message appears.
Upon successfully editing a variable, the changes that are made appears throughout the flow, and in the pop-over that appears when you click a flow variable in the Global Properties pane.
To edit a custom flow variable, perform the following steps:

Step 1 | From the Management Portal navigation bar, choose . |
Step 2 | Click the ellipsis icon beside the flow and click Open. The Flow Designer window appears. |
Step 3 | Click on a variable tag from the Global Properties Pane that you want to edit. It displays a pop-over window showing a summary of the information that is originally configured for the variable. |
Step 4 | Click Edit in the upper-right corner of the pop-over. The Edit Flow Variable dialog box appears. If the variable is not used in the flow, then all the fields are editable. You can modify the variable name, description, type, and value. |
Step 5 | Click the Information icon in this message to see a list of the activities where the variable is used. If you want to proceed with editing the variable, remove the variable from all flow configurations before trying to edit again. |
Step 6 | Make the necessary changes. The Save button remains disabled until you make a change. |
Step 7 | Click Save. |
